For an asynchronous mod10 counter,you need to use 4 flipflops and then reset them when count is 10.this is done by using a/an and/nand gate based this can be done using synchronous counter which require excitation table of sr flip flop.

Hence, default input state will be low across all the pins except r which is in high state for normal. It is constructed using and gates as input to nor gate sr latch. A mod n counter can count up to n events.

One for x = 0 and one for x = 1.

The excitation table of sr ff and transition table is as. Also, the clock signal and the up/down state will i did an up/down mod 10 counter with jk flip flops and it took 15 logic gates. Since a mod 6 johnson counter can count up to 6 states, 3 flip flops will be required. Then i made 2 truth tables stating one for the up count and one for the down count.
